Founded in December 2009, Hunger Free Heartland (HFH), has a mission to end childhood hunger in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area.
Mission
Ensure that sustainable solutions are available to provide children and their families the nutritious foods they need to live active, healthy lives.
Company Overview
The Hunger Free Heartland Initiative began in the winter of 2009 when a group of agencies, local business, organizations and government entities decided to come together to discuss what it would look like to end childhood hunger in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area.
From successful programs in school, childcare settings, after-school programs to non-profit organizations, there are a number of local organizations currently working to address childhood hunger issues. Hunger Free Heartland provides an opportunity for these organizations to collaborate with a common purpose to end childhood hunger in the metro area - Douglas, Pottawattamie and Sarpy Counties.
