The food aid program temporary aid for eligible low income families and individuals is available from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.


Eligibility is based on the financial situation of all members of a household.


Everyone who lives together, buys and prepares food together is considered a member of the same household group.


In general, we'll look at expenses, activities, and revenue to determine which, if any, benefits you might be eligible for. Application processYou must fill in and submit an application to determine if you are able to receive assistance with assistance such as food, Medicaid, child care, temporary money, an emergency, etc., through MDHHS.


When you submit an application, you may need to provide information about all members of your household.


The best way to determine eligibility and apply is online with MI Bridges. Applications can be sent by hand to our office, sent by post or faxed.


Customers receive a Michigan Bridge Card to purchase certain food products and access cash benefits at various retailers and ATMs across the state.
