The Food Aid Temporary Food Aid Program for eligible low-income families and individuals is available from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Eligibility is based on the financial status of all members of the family.
Anyone who lives together and buys and prepares food together is considered to be a member of the same family group.
Generally, they will review your expenses, assets, and income to determine what benefits you may qualify for. Application Process You must complete and submit an application to determine if you can receive assistance through MDHHS for food, Medicaid, child care, temporary cash, emergencies, etc.
When submitting an application, you may need to provide information about all members of your household.
The best way to check your eligibility and apply is to apply online through MI Bridges. Applications can be hand-delivered, mailed, or faxed to your local office.

Customers are given a Michigan Bridge card for certain food purchases and cash discounts at a number of retailers and ATMs across the state.
